Guesthouse
The Ómós Guesthouse invites guests into a slower pace of living, offering a refined interpretation of the Irish guesthouse. Sixteen rooms, ten in the main house and six in the adjacent coachhouses, have been designed by Ryan W. Kennihan Architects in collaboration with Asca and Relief Gallery. Each room carries its own character, with Irish bed linen, handcrafted ceramics, and Ómós bodycare.
Throughout, spaces are reimagined through a carefully curated art collection, considered materials and textures, and a balance of the custom-made and the found. Within the guesthouse, you will find An Siopa Beag - our little shop, where guests can take home a curated collection of Ómós wares, offering bespoke scents, handcrafted objects, and bread from the bakery.

The Art
Ómós is a space to celebrate and showcase Irish and international artists. Both in the house and the restaurant, our walls are decorated with a rotating collection of works that inspire our creative process and ground the space in contemporary craft.
Artists include: Maria Simonds Gooding, Damien Flood, Stephen Lawlor, Charles Lamb and Louis le Brocquy.

Restaurant
and Bakery
Designed by Architect Ryan Kennihan in collaboration with Asca and Relief Gallery, the restaurant and bakery buildings take inspiration from the Irish farmstead.
Our cooking is guided by nature, our close relationships with producers, and a contemporary sense of Ireland. Served in the restaurant, our tasting menu is inspired by the forests, rivers, hedgerows and fields that surround us.

Sauna under
the trees
Drawing on the ancient history of Irish sweat houses, our Douglas fir sauna looks out over the Millpond - a place for a quiet moment to reset. Follow a heat session with a dip in the swimming pond, or find a peaceful corner on the banks to read as the afternoon fades.

The Garden
Designed by Edward and Arthur Shackleton, our 4.2-acre gardens feature naturalistic native planting and winding paths that invite slow wandering. Discover the mill race as it diverts into a beautiful waterfall, or walk the forest floor in springtime when it is carpeted in bluebells.

Walking trails
The grounds at Ómós are made for wandering. A network of connected paths takes you through forest and along the river, from a gentle 1.5 km loop to a longer 1.9 km trail, or all the way into Abbeyleix town via the Lords Walk (2.2 km one way), passing the edge of Abbeyleix Bog, one of Ireland's most celebrated community-led conservation landscapes.

Our surroundings
Beyond our gates, forest paths and river trails wind through the surrounding landscape. Our team can point you in the right direction, or join you on a foraging walk through the wild larder on our doorstep. Follow the trails far enough, and they'll bring you into Abbeyleix town, an essential extension of our story. Morrissey's for a pint that has been perfected over 250 years, Mueller & O'Connell for pastries worth the walk alone, and the Anthology design store, where you won't leave empty-handed.
